Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Clearfield County say a former Curwensville high school baseball coach has been sentenced to serve up to multiple decades in prison after pleading guilty to child sex abuse.
According to county District Attorney Ryan Sayers, Thomas Harzinski appeared in court this week where he pleaded guilty to several charges in the case, including sexual assault of a minor and indecent assault.
He was then sentenced to serve 13 to 31 years in state prison, followed by three years of probation.
Police charged Harzinski in March following an investigation into allegations that he had molested two young boys.
Investigators say the abuse reportedly occurred at various locations, including a hotel in Pittsburgh, a campground in Williamsport and Harzinski's residence.
During his sentencing hearing, Harzinski was also deemed to be a sexually violent predator and was ordered to register as a lifetime sex offender.
