Somerset man, 19, accused of sexually assaulting teen; giving her weed, vapes

State police say a 19-year-old Somerset man is facing charges after he was accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl and providing her with marijuana and vapes.

According to the affidavit, police say the girl reported in late January that she had allegedly been provided with various vapes by Caleb Lambert.

Police say the victim also claimed that she had engaged in sexual activity with Lambert.

Troopers say, in early January, the two reportedly began communicating via Snapchat, at which time Lambert allegedly told the victim that he was 16, soon to be 17, years old.

Police say the two then arranged to meet at a nearby restaurant where Lambert is accused of driving the victim to his house, while they were both "vaping."

Investigators say the victim then told police that once they arrived at Lambert's Somerset Township home, he reportedly offered the girl "actual weed" and encouraged her to "try it."

Police say after a short time of "hanging out," Lambert reportedly asked the victim if she had ever had sex, to which she reportedly responded "no."

Troopers say Lambert is then accused of removing the victim's clothes and sexually assaulting her.

Police say Lambert then reportedly drove the victim back to her home.

According to the affidavit, troopers say Lambert reportedly refused to meet with police for an interview.

Online court records show that Lambert was arraigned Wednesday on various charges, including statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors.

He has since been released on unsecured bail.
