Central Cambria to host public hearing on potential closure of Jackson Elementary school

“We want to hear from you.” That's what the Central Cambria School Board is saying after discussing the possibility of closing the Jackson Township Elementary School.

The board president says that the request for public comment goes along with the district’s plan of completing a feasibility study to determine budgetary projections.

He says public opinion will give them a clearer picture of how they should proceed.

“It’s important because the board represents the community. We are making decisions on behalf of the community. We are representatives of the community. And we need to know what people have on their mind,” said Thomas Woods, Central Cambria School Board President.

The board president adds that the study will be available to the public on April 8th.

Then, on April 29th, the hearing for people to share their opinions will be held at the Central Cambria High School auditorium.
