2 arrested in connection to armed robbery at Hornerstown AutoZone, police say

Two men have been charged after an armed robbery earlier this month at the AutoZone in the Hornerstown section of Johnstown, according to police.

According to police, 23-year-old Juquette Charles, of Johnstown, and 18-year-old Gavin Hopkins, of Philadelphia, walked into AutoZone. Police say one displayed a firearm and they demanded money from the register.

They removed the money and then left the scene. They got into a waiting van in the parking lot of Team Collision Center.

Charles has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and is being held in the Cambria County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.

Hopkins is facing similar charges.

His charges include conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault, possessing a gun without a license, and recklessly endangering another person, according to online court documents.

Hopkins is being held in the Cambria County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Police say charges are pending against the man they believe was driving the getaway car.
