A man who said he was sexually assaulted by former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has been arrested in Massachusetts for armed assault with attempt to murder.
Boston police said in a news release that Anthony Spinelli, 44, of Leominster, Massachusetts, stabbed a man Tuesday afternoon after getting into an argument with him.
The man, who Spinelli knew, suffered life-threatening injuries, but is expected to survive, police said.
Spinelli is being held on $1 million bail.
He was apprehended Wednesday in Revere, Massachusetts.
Spinelli said he was 16 years old when Sandusky abused him at a Penn State football camp, but he didn't come forward with a criminal complaint until October 2014.
The state Attorney General’s Office refused to investigate the case, saying the statute of limitations had expired on the time frame when criminal charges could be filed.
Last fall, Centre County Judge Thomas Kistler issued a decision disagreeing with the attorney general's opinion and ordered that Spinelli's claim should be further investigated.
In October, Spinelli was dealt another court setback in Centre County in his attempt to get charges filed against Sandusky.
