Annual Ebensburg Homecoming event taking place this weekend, with some changes

While most summer events were canceled, one event in Cambria County is still set to happen this weekend.

Ebensburg Homecoming is set to take place this weekend and started Friday night with a concert, but it will look different than years past.

Organizers say they have canceled certain activities like the downtown shutdown, which they believe would be too large of crowds and not enough space to social distance.

However, some activities are still scheduled like yard sales, a fishing derby, and outdoor music.

Ebensburg borough’s community development director, Danea Koss, hopes this event will bring a sense of normalcy for visitors and residents, but organizers are still encouraging people to practice health and safety precautions.

“A lot of what we are doing is outdoors. So of course, social distant. Do what you are comfortable with. Masks if you are comfortable with those and able to wear those they are encouraged. Just be safe and enjoy yourselves.”

You can find a full schedule of events on the borough’s website.
