JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — As more counties moved into the Green Phase on Friday, more salons reopened across the state.
After 14 long weeks, Salvatore Hairstyling in Westmont finally reopened.
The family business returned at 50% occupancy, with each stylist only working with one client at a time.
Some of the new guidelines for the salon include now having to display hand sanitizer, cleaning off each station after every client, wearing a mask and sanitizing frequently.
The salon also installed plexiglass to shield the receptionist desk.
Before starting their appointment, the clients must fill out a form asking if they have recently had a fever or have been in contact with anyone with the virus.
Clients must also have their temperature checked.
“These are all simple things that we're not used to, but they are definitely doable to make everybody happy and make their hair look good again,” said Ivana Panebianco, the salon owner.
Clients also shared their thoughts on the salon's reopening and being able to receive a haircut for the first time in months.
