Memory tree at local church providing holiday comfort for those who've lost loved ones

She put the tree up inside Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in Altoona. Northern Cambria School District residents react to New Building Project

The Northern Cambria School District is in the planning phase of consolidating its high school with the elementary/middle school. Throughout its past meetings they presented several options to the public, but many residents take issue with the idea itself as it will raise taxes in the area. The district has since drawn up plans with an architect and posted a real estate tax calculator on their website so that residents can find out their tax increase as a result of the project. Penn Highlands Health announces expansion into State College area

Woman stabbed former Johnstown man to death after bar fight

PITTSBURGH -- A 25-year-old Pittsburgh woman has been arrested over the stabbing death of a former Johnstown man found lying on a street over the weekend. Ashley Henchell was charged Monday with homicide and tampering with evidence in the death of 33-year-old Ryan Carosi in the Mount Washington neighborhood. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Ryan Carosi moved from Johnstown five months ago to work as a carpenter at his uncle’s company, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen on Saw Mill Run Boulevard, said his brother, Devin Carosi. Cream cheese spreads recalled at Aldi, Hy-Vee due to salmonella risk

WASHINGTON (TND) — Select cream cheese spreads sold at Aldi and Hy-Vee have been recalled in several states due to a potential risk for salmonella. Schreiber Foods issued a news release on May 7 saying it was informed by one of their suppliers that "an ingredient used in several cream cheese spread formulas has the potential to contain Salmonella."
