Central Cambria to host public hearing on potential closure of Jackson Elementary school

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa (WHP) — Pennsylvania has a new interim Lieutenant Governor. Interim PA Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward was sworn-in as the acting Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon. This comes after former PA Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman was sworn-in for his new role as a U.S. Senator on Tuesday. Ward will remain the interim Lieutenant Governor until January 17, when the swearing-in of of Lt. Jeff Tech closes protective services program

REYNOLDSVILLE, Pa. - The Jefferson County-DuBois Area Vocational-Technical School closed the protective services program on Monday. The program at Jeff Tech was designed to prepare students for careers in criminal justice, emergency medicine and fire protection. Executive director Barry Fillman said at this time each year, Jeff Tech considers what the programs are offering, based on student enrollment, occupational projections and the needs of the community. Setsucon anime convention coming to Altoona this weekend

ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — There's an anime convention coming to Blair County this weekend. "Setsucon" began in 2007 in State College, but organizers say it outgrew its venue. This is the third year it has been held at the Blair County Convention Center, with more than 1,500 people expected to attend, all dressed in anime costumes. Altoona's Lakemont Park to close this summer for renovations

ALTOONA – Lakemont Park will be closed for renovations this summer, but will reopen on Friday, Nov. 17, for the 21st annual Holiday Lights On The Lake, officials said Tuesday. Changes planned for Lakemont Park include replacing some of the older amusement rides with a new miniature golf course, batting cages, playgrounds, basketball and sand volleyball courts and expanded picnic areas, while keeping and enhancing attractions such as the waterpark, paddle boats, train, roller coasters, antique cars and go-karts. Police identify three individuals shot and killed in early Saturday Ohio shoot-out

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Three people remain in the hospital Sunday after a shooting in Columbus, Ohio Saturday injured them and killed three others. Authorities said six people in total were shot, three of whom were killed. Two were pronounced dead at the scene, and the third was taken to an area hospital and died there. Police, Game Commission investigating alleged video of teen strangling duck in Cambria Co.
